George McCracken Geyer/Knopf Double Horn
Having been trained as an audio engineer, I can offer the unique ability to professionally record my horn performance for my clients remotely, from my home studio.
I own ultra-linear microphones and pre-amps with the explicit intention of capturing pure audio for my clients to process however they'd like. I also have experience producing tracks in my own DAW and can additionally offer my clients polished, broadcast ready horn tracks if they desire.
I also own various models of French Horns each with different tonal characteristics, allowing me to match your project's style and character at the source.
AKG c414 XL II Studio Microphone
To capture the most audio possible, I prefer to record in mono in a dry booth with an ultra-linear mic and pre-amp, currently a Slate ML2 to an Audient iD14. My DAW of choice is Reaper and my signal processing, if desired, includes Slate Digital mic and pre-amp emulations, Eiosis AirEQ & Relab Lexicon 480 and/or Abbey Road Plate reverb. However, with the goal of seamless collaboration, I strive to accommodate requests to use different microphones, record in a different space and into a different DAW if need be.
I prefer to record music already composed with a provided click track to ensure rhythmic precision but I can also record to a cue without a click track or improvise a cue for a single horn solo or horn section to an already existing track.
I enjoy the process of collaborating with others to make music, I find I learn something new every time! If you are interested in working on a project with me please send me a message and we can discuss the details!
